The sample is filtered through a suitable membrane filter. Next the filter, after a short incubation at 25 °C, is incubated at 37 °C on a solid, lactose-containing medium (LSA) with such selectivecharacteristics that bacteria of the coli group will form characteristic colonies. The suspected characteristic colonies are confirmed by means of MALDI-TOF.Equality compaired to the NEN relates to the use of LSA medium instead of CCA. The confirmation with classic methods is replaced by confirmation using the MALDI-TOF. |
