This instruction describes a method for the determination of the phthalates content in water. 20 ml of sample, hexane and internal standards are added to a pointed tube containing salt. After extraction the extract is analysed by means of on-column injection, capillary gas chromatography and mass-selective detection. Identification and quantification are preferably executed with 3 SRMs, by comparing the retention times and by calculating the peak area. Corrections are made for internal standards. With the exception of PCB-29, these are labelled with di-n-pentylphtalate. |
