Carbonate and/or bicarbonate is titrated with hydrochloric acid up to a pH between 4 and 5. The pH of the equivalence point is strongly dependent on the carbon dioxide present. To a lesser extent the temperature and ionicstrength have an influence on the equivalence point. The equivalencepoint is determined with the 1st derivative of the titration curve. |
