WLN-CA.W.26.1Determination of the colour (spectrophotometrical)in-house method
Principle:The colour intensity of filtered water, measured at 455 nm, is compared to the intensity of a diluted solution of cobalt(II) chloride and potassium hexachloroplatinate and is a measure for the colour intensity. The natural colour comes among other things from humic compounds, iron salts and manganese salts.
Determination:Colour at 455 nm
Performance characteristics:
Matrices qualified by the Dutch RvA:Drinking water, Surface water
Reporting limit:5 mg Pt-Co/l, matrix dependent
Measurement uncertainty:30%
Sustainability:5 days
Sampling bottle:Glass , brown , 100 ml (fill up to cap)
