WLN-CA.W.21.2Determination of the Kjeldahl nitrogen contentc NEN-EN-ISO 15923-1 (destructie c NEN 6645)
Principle:The organic substance is destructed with a mixture of concentrated sulphuric acid and potassium sulphate with a catalyst. In this process organically bound nitrogen is converted into ammonia ions. Ammoniareacts with hypochlorite and salicylate in the presence of sodiumnitroprusside to a blue colored complex witch is measured colorimetricby a discrete analyzer at 660 nm.
Determination:Nitrogen, kjeldahl
Performance characteristics:
Matrices qualified by the Dutch RvA:Wastewater, Drinking water, Surface water
Reporting limit:0.5 mg N/l, matrix dependent
Measurement uncertainty:25%
Sustainability:28 days , if conserved with H2SO4
Sampling bottle:Glass , brown , 250 ml , conservation with H2SO4 (fill up to the neck of the bottle)
