WLN-CO.W.37.1Determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) in water by means of GC-MSin-house method
Principle:This instruction describes a method for the determination of the content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) in waste water. In a vial hexane and internal standard is added to the sample. After extraction the extract is analysed by means of on-column injection, capillarygas chromatography and mass-selective detection. Identification and quantification are preferably executed with 3 SRMs, by comparing the retention times and by calculating the peak area. Corrections are made for the internal standards.
Determination:PAH, water, GC/MS TSQ
Performance characteristics:
Matrices qualified by the Dutch RvA:Wastewater
Reporting limit:0.02 μg/l, matrix dependent
Measurement uncertainty:50%
Sustainability:7 days
