Principle: | The pH is measured by means of a combined electrode. This consists of a reference electrode (calomel electrode, filled with a saturated potassium chloride solution) and an indication electrode (glass electrode). At the interface of two solutions with different concentrations a difference of potential is present. By means of the combined electrode this difference of potential is measured and read off by means of a pH meter. | |
