WLN-CA.W.80.1Determination of the saturation index (SI index))in accordance with NEN 6533
Principle:The temperature, acidity, electrical conductivity, calcium content and hydrogen carbonate content of water samples are determined, after which the equilibrium pH8 is calculated using a formula. The saturation index (SI index) is the difference between the measured pH and the equilibrium pHs.The saturation index is a measure of the lime aggressiveness of water, a positive SI-index indicates that the water is lime-depositing, a negative SI-index indicates that the water is lime-dissolving.
Determination:Saturation-index
Performance characteristics:
Matrices qualified by the Dutch RvA:Drinking water, Groundwater, Surface water
Reporting limit:9.9999 pH, matrix dependent
Sustainability:1 day
