WLN-CA.W.25.2Determination of the UV absorption (spectrophotometrical)in-house method
Principle:The UV absorption is measured in filtered water at a wavelength of 254 nm. Numerous organic substances have absorption bands within the range of ultraviolet (UV) light. The UV absorption can serve as a measure for the quantity of organic substance in the water; especiallyif no strong fluctuations occur in the qualitative composition of the water.
Determination:UV absorption at 254 nm
Performance characteristics:
Matrices qualified by the Dutch RvA:Drinking water, Surface water
Reporting limit:0.5 abs/m, matrix dependent
Measurement uncertainty:20%
Sustainability:14 days
Sampling bottle:Glass , brown , 100 ml (fill up to cap)
